Here is an image of the British actress Tilda Swinton stood in what looks like Russia, with the iconic Russian style palaces in the background. She is holding a multi-colored flag that represents gay pride. Behind her is a police car. Recently Russia had imposed laws against displaying homo-sexual acts in public, and also there are no laws against discrimination against gays. I think this photo presents that Russia is policing homosexuals, as the police car is seen outside the Russian palaces. Tilda Swinton is protesting for gay rights in this image.

Plan ideas
Education
- Negative and Positive Teacher Labeling affecting my self concept
- my first English class in the first school, teacher labeling compared to second school
- Behavior, ability in class,
-
- Negative and positive labeling from other students affecting my self concept
How other students perceive me and how this can change how I am. Linking to the Self fulfilling prophecy theory.
- The class and location of the school I have went to and how that has affected my identity
Talk about where my school was
Type of school
The people who went there
The ways it has affected me; Language, Music, Fashion, self concept
- How education has socialized me into the 'norms and values' of society
-Obeying authority, Durkheim,
Theories:
-The labeling theory
- self concept
- self esteem
- the self ( hidden etc)
- socialization in education ( Durkheim)

What is culture?
Culture can be anything you want it to be, I think culture can be what you choose to put in your bubble, call it yours and make it your identity. But what actually defines something as culture? I think its your choice. Culture can be what you want it to be. To some people culture is what activities you participate in during your spare time, the food you eat, the music you listen to, and the way you dress, culture is the way you chose to live your life. Culture is what is relevant to you and your life, and this can be affected by many things like where you grew up, the people who surrounded you, the media you are surrounded by. Culture is what you have absorbed to make you who you are.
